Weekly Wrap (July 27): Sentiment heads south
The VNI plunged on Friday to close out the week down 5% on the news of a suspected community-transmitted case of COVID-19 in Danang. Friday’s selloff came on US$324m in turnover, 61% higher than the YTD daily average. The good news is that bottom-fishing sharks are already on the hunt: foreign investors net bought US$12m worth of shares on Friday after four straight days of FINI net selling.
