Weekly Wrap: A tight range for the VNI

The VNI was in consolidation mode with the mainboard trading in a tight (<1%) range last week. Breadth on the VNI was positive with 252 gainers vs 109 losers, but the heavyweight VN30 stocks saw slightly negative breadth with just 13 gainers on the week. Foreigners were net buyers due to strong flows into VHM. The Vietnamese dong was flat against a slightly weaker USD, while the domestic physical gold market calmed down after the extreme volatility of the previous week.
